Easy Churro Chips Recipe:- An incredibly simple recipe for churro chips using pita bread. I am not exaggerating when I say that a batch can be prepared in approximately five minutes, and it serves approximately eight people. - 2 Pita bread pockets, tortillas, or an alternative thin flatbread of preference
- Unrefined olive oil
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar, adjusted to taste
- Approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons of ground cinnamon, to taste
To make single rounds of pita, cut the pita pockets in half:
- Spread your pita bread out flat on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut it in half along the seam, making two square pieces.
- In this case, you don’t need to split the tortillas or single-ply flatbread.
Take each flatbread and cut it into 8 triangles:
- Each pita or tortilla should be cut into 8 triangles with a sharp knife or kitchen shears.
When you fry in extra virgin olive oil:
- Set a medium-sized frying pan over medium-high heat and add about ¼ cup of extra virgin olive oil. Cook until the oil shimmers.
- To keep the pan from getting too crowded, add the triangles of pita or tortilla as you go.
- Fry the chips and wait for one side to turn a medium brown color.
- Then quickly flip the chips over and cook on the other side for a few seconds.
- It should take less than a minute for both sides to be crispy and golden brown.
Get rid of:
- Get a big plate ready and put paper towels on it. Place the fried chips on the platter that has been prepared.
- Let them sit for a short time over the paper towels to drain off any extra oil.
Add salt and serve:
- Add sugar and ground cinnamon to the chips while they are still very hot. Have fun!
